Make like a tree....

I was struck today--of all days--by the fact that I will not be at Covenant Seminary next year. How'd it happen? Well, of all things, an email explaining budget cuts at the seminary. It wasn't that content, though; it was a small note buried in the text about tuition raises and registration for the 2009/10 year. As a reflex, I started to reach for my daytimer to make a note of the registration dates...and then it struck me. I won't be registering. I have registered for one summer and eight semesters; that is 9 registrations. I won't make 10.

So I began to think of things that I will miss about being at CTS. Here's a short list:
  1. Good assignments through which I learn a lot
  2. Nights at Dressel's with my buds
  3. Walking the halls with professors I admire and respect
  4. All-night snow sledding behind the Gator (ok, that was just once, but still....)
  5. Seeing the terrified faces of new students turn into familiar ones
  6. The picnic table (a future post may be dedicated to this table)
  7. The library -- boy will I miss that library and all its books
  8. My carole studdy-cubby in the library basement (Actually, this particular carole has almost always been assigned to "J. Stover" yet everyone along with me knows its really mine regardless of the name on the desk)
  9. Seeing the house and surrounding spots where I courted Cheryl
  10. Gerry Reimer -- the best faculty secretary ever
Maybe I love Covenant afterall. :)
