Gidget Part II

The other night I discovered a worm on my hand after Gidget walked by and brushed my hand. I completely freaked out because it was still moving. It was really disgusting!!! I took Gidget to the vet yesterday morning to get dewormed (it was tapeworms) and found out that she is not 3 months old as we were told by the adoption center. She is actually closer to 6 months old and so she will probably not get too much bigger. She currently weighs 6 lbs. So, she may stay true to her name. Gidget- "girl midget" from the movie with Sandra Dee and from the book, Gidget, the Little Girl with Big Ideas. I first saw the Gidget tv show (with Sally Fields) when I was little and from what I remember of the character on the show, the name really fits our Gidget's personality. I don't think she will ever take up surfing but she has already gone for a swim in the tub (not intentionally) and she is very adventurous.

She and Maddie had a positive interaction yesterday. They sniffed and touched noses and both stayed very calm. Rory watched with a panicked expression. If she could talk, I imagine she would've yelled at Gidget and said, "What the heck do you think you're doing? Are you trying to get yourself killed? Just look at the size of that monster!" After the brief interaction with Maddie, Gidget hopped back upstairs and acted like it was not a big deal. She's so courageous!
